| China Ranked 19 of World Competitiveness |

“World Competitiveness Yearbook of 2006”delivered by International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Swiss represented the competitiveness of China mainland surged to the 19th place, up by 12 places from 31st last year. Taiwan, China decreased from the 11th place to 18th.
The rank of world competitiveness included 61 countries and areas, with over 300 estimating projects, estimated in the aspects of infrastructure construction, corporation efficiency, economic performance and government effectiveness.
US, Hong Kong, Singapore and Iceland ranked top places as same as last year, followed by Denmark, Australia, Canada, Swiss, Luxemburg and Finland.
Among the four estimating elements, China mainland gained great achievement than last year. Economic performance, government effectiveness, corporation efficiency and infrastructure construction of China ranked the 3rd,17th, 30th and 37th places respectively.
Pan Yue, world economy Professor of Strategy Institute of School of Chinese Communist Party, expressed the world competitiveness rank made by IMD and World Economy Forum were both authorized ranks and the former one was widely approved by international society for its long-history and authority. It was obvious to see competitive power and developing capability of China mainland while China possess stable policy and national economic development with no great changes.
The report made by IMD will effect foreign investors positively and bring confidence for the investors from western country invest in China mainland. Foreign investors expect the favorable investment environment in China mainland.
